Thomas Forget

Thomas Forget's work experience includes various roles in the fields of privacy and information management. Thomas is currently working as the Chief Privacy Officer at Université Laval since October 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Assistant and Strategic Advisor to the President at the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec from May 2021 to October 2022.

Thomas also has extensive experience at Elections Quebec, where they worked as the Senior Access to Information and Privacy Officer from July 2015 to April 2021. In this role, they were responsible for managing the Access to Information and Privacy Office, providing expert advice on privacy, and leading a team to achieve its objectives.

Before joining Elections Quebec, Thomas worked at the Ministère de la sécurité publique in various capacities, including as a Conseiller en organisation policière from July 2014 to July 2015, a Responsable de l'accès aux documents et de la protection des renseignements personnels from October 2010 to July 2014, and a Conseiller à la lutte contre les crimes économiques from July 2007 to October 2010.

Thomas Forget holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Project Management from Université Laval, which they obtained from 2014 to 2019. Prior to this, they completed a Master's degree in Public Administration with a focus on Program Evaluation at ENAP - École nationale d'administration publique from 2005 to 2007. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics from McGill University, which they earned from 2001 to 2004. Thomas has also obtained several certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, including Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C), and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
