Philippe Chalmin has a distinguished career spanning several decades in economics and academia. Since 2010, Philippe Chalmin has served as the Chairman of the observatory on agricultural and food prices and margins within the French ministries of Agriculture and Finance. Concurrently, since 1994, Philippe Chalmin has held the position of Chair Professor of Economic History at Paris Dauphine University. As the founding Chairman of the CyclOpe commodity research institute since 1985, Philippe Chalmin has made significant contributions to commodity research. Philippe Chalmin was a member of the Council of Economic Advisers for the Office of the Prime Minister from 2006 to 2012 and served as Chief Economist at Euler Hermes from 1991 to 2003. Additionally, Philippe Chalmin was Chairman of the Conference Board at the Europe Council of Economists from 1999 to 2001 and was a professor at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers from 1976 to 1991. Philippe Chalmin holds a doctorate in economic history from Université Paris-Sorbonne and has an 'aggrégation' in History, along with education from HEC Paris.
