Suraiya Farukhi

Suraiya Farukhi, Ph. D., currently serves as the Director of Communications at USRA, a role encompassing responsibility for external relations, media relations, brand management, digital communications, and crisis management since 2016. Previously, Suraiya held several strategic communication positions, including Managing Director of Corporate Communications at FedEx Ground, where oversight of internal communications was key, and Group Manager for Communications at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, leading a team of 16. Additional experience includes serving as Division Director for Communications at Argonne National Laboratory and Vice President of Public Affairs at the Center for Excellence in Education. Suraiya holds both a Master of Public Administration in Public & International Affairs and a Ph.D. in English from Oklahoma State University.
