John J Sheridan

John J Sheridan has extensive experience in leadership and governmental relations within the healthcare sector, currently serving as Vice President of Government Relations at UT Medical Center since 2000, where responsibilities include managing Federal and State Legislative relationships. Previously, John held the position of Board Chair for the Tennessee Public and Teaching Hospital Association from January 2010 to November 2012, representing Tennessee's seven academic medical centers. John’s earlier career at the University of Tennessee spanned from 1975 to 2000, during which time John served as Senior Associate Vice President for Development, overseeing major gift fundraising and capital fundraising campaign management. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, completed in 1972, and a College Prep Diploma from Knoxville Catholic High School, earned in 1968.
