Ted Day

EVP, Strategic Planning & Business Development at University Health System

Ted Day is the EVP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at University Health System. Prior to this, they were with Christus Spohn Health System from July 2008 to September 2012, where they served as Vice President, Strategy & Development. Ted has also served as the part-time President of Spohn Investment Corporation while overseeing the business development unit.

Some of Ted's notable achievements include signing multiple specialists through recruitment efforts and completing 4 practice acquisitions. Ted was also a key player during negotiations, establishing rapport and trust with all parties during acquisition efforts. Additionally, Ted led a team of 350 talented individuals across multiple departments while serving as Executive Director of revenue cycle. Together with this team, they optimized the revenue-cycle process. Lastly, Ted led the physician hospital organization (PHO), driving its regional influence and success.

Ted's executive skill set includes: integrated delivery systems, employer healthcare service development, IT strategy, medical group development/leadership, business development, revenue growth, healthcare consulting, physician group management, physician partnership development, health plan operations, network management, network contracting, program development, and business process improvement.

Ted Day has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder. Ted also has a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Health Administration and Business Administration from the University of Colorado Denver. Lastly, they have a Master of Science in Hospital and Health Care Facilities Administration/Management from the University of Colorado Denver. Ted is also certified in TESOL from Biola University.

Ted Day reports to George B. Hernández, President & CEO. They work with Elliott Mandell - SVP & Chief Pharmacy Officer, Theresa De La Haya - SVP, Community Health & Clinical Prevention Programs, and Chris Sandles - President, Hospital Operations.
