Sotirios Kalousios

Sotirios Kalousios is a researcher at the Freiburg Epilepsy Center, Universitätsklinikum Freiburg, specializing in closed-loop interventions for focal epilepsy since October 2023. Currently a doctoral candidate at Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus, Sotirios is focused on ECG-based epileptic seizure prediction for a thesis. Prior experience includes roles as a neurosurgery resident and surgical critical care resident, along with a position as a clinician scientist at the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health, where an interdisciplinary project involved developing a clinical application of an epileptic seizure warning system using iEEG seizure prediction. Sotirios completed compulsory military service as a medical doctor in the Greek Army from November 2018 to May 2019 and holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon, obtained in 2018.
