Edward Burney, MD FAAO FACS, serves as the Director of Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Services at University Hospitals of Cleveland since July 1986, overseeing patient care, resident education, and departmental policy. Additionally, Edward directs Glaucoma Services, focusing on the medical and surgical management training for residents and medical students. At the Department of Veterans Affairs, Edward holds the position of Director of Ophthalmology at the VAMC, managing the care of over 20,000 patient visits and conducting 1,500 surgeries annually, alongside overseeing 18 residents and various staff members. Edward is also a fellow at the American Academy of Ophthalmology since April 1985. Edward completed a fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins from July 1985 to July 1986 and received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1978, following an Ophthalmology residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland from 1980 to 1983.
