Samuel Dester

Samuel Dester is an experienced educator and recruiter with a diverse background in teaching, curriculum development, and educational administration. Currently serving as a Recruiter for University Instructors since October 2022, Samuel previously held roles such as Classroom Teacher at Charles Page High School from January 2016 to January 2023 and Social Studies Teacher at KIPP Austin Public Schools from 2013 to 2014. Additional experience includes serving as a Curriculum Coordinator and Instructional Coach at IDEA Public Schools, an Advanced Placement U.S. History Teacher at Donna Independent School District, and a Dual Enrollment U.S. History Instructor at South Texas College. Samuel began an academic career as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Oklahoma State University while also gaining research experience with the National Park Service. Samuel holds a Master of Arts in History from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Arts in History and International Studies from Baker University.
