Amy Hutson Chatham

Amy Hutson Chatham currently serves as the Executive Director for both the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the UAB AmeriCorps VISTA Statewide Program. With a strong background in public health education and promotion, Amy has held various academic positions at UAB since May 2011, including Assistant Professor in Environmental Health Sciences and Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Education. Responsibilities include leading initiatives to enhance student engagement, civic involvement, and community partnerships. Amy's experience extends to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in global health studies and academic writing, particularly for international students. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Public Health Education and Promotion, an MPH in International Public Health/Nutrition, and a BS in Psychology/Sociology, with early career experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines.
