Dr. Nidheesh Dadheech

Senior Research Lead- Cell Therapy And Process Development at University of Alberta

Dr. Nidheesh Dadheech has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical research and academia. Dr. Nidheesh started their career as a Senior Research Personal at MSU Baroda and later worked as a Ph.D. Student, focusing on demonstrating the islet neogenic property of the herbal plant Enicostemma littorale blume. Dr. Nidheesh obtained their Ph.D. in 2013 and continued their research as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta, investigating the role of GLP-1 in beta cell regeneration. In 2018, they became a Research Associate at the University of Alberta, and in 2021, they transitioned into their current role as the Senior Research Lead in Pre GMP Process Development. In addition to their research positions, Dr. Dadheech also worked as an Assistant Professor in Cell Biology at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, where they taught various subjects and supervised dissertation research.

Dr. Nidheesh Dadheech obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry with a focus on Stem Cell Therapy in Diabetes from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, completing their studies from 2007 to 2013. Prior to this, they completed a Master's Degree in Biotechnology from Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University from 2005 to 2007, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from the same university from 2003 to 2005. Their high school education was completed at Maheshwari Public School, Ajmer from 2000 to 2002, with a specialization in Biology. Additionally, Dr. Dadheech has obtained certifications in Hands-on Training in Flowcytometry from the National Center for Biological Sciences, India in 2012, Animal Handling and Procedures from the CCAC - Canadian Council on Animal Care, University of Laval, Quebec in 2011, and has a Whimis Certificate from Whimis.
