Jessica Butts Scott has a diverse work experience in the field of education and corporate partnerships. Jessica currently holds the position of Associate Vice President for Online & Continuing Education at the University of Alberta. Prior to this, they worked at Athabasca University where they successfully led the establishment and launch of PowerED™, an innovative hub for online continuing education and professional development. Jessica also held leadership positions in partnerships and student recruitment, as well as corporate relations. Before their time at Athabasca University, they worked at Oilers Entertainment Group, where they managed corporate partnerships and digital strategy. Jessica began their career at Viacom, where they served as an Account Manager and later as an Account Coordinator for MTV Networks, focusing on affiliate sales and marketing. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and partnership development skills.

Jessica Butts Scott, MBA earned their Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Sales & Marketing Communications and Spanish, from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Jessica later pursued their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Athabasca University, along with a Graduate Diploma in Management. Jessica also obtained an Integrated Marketing Certificate from the University of Chicago. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Education in Distance Education (EdD) from Athabasca University. In addition to their academic achievements, Jessica has obtained certifications such as Presenter at the Conference on Management & Executive Development (CMED) 2020 from ProEd and the Navigating Extraordinary Times Digital Badge from PowerED by Athabasca University.
