Sofia de Oliveira Pires

Sofia de Oliveira Pires is an experienced Technology Transfer Manager at the University of Alicante since January 2003, focusing on knowledge and technology transfer in Iberoamerican countries, along with technology monitoring and strategic intelligence. In the same time frame, Sofia has been a Project Manager at InnoUA - Soluciones tecnológicas UA. Previously, Sofia completed a PhD in Fluid Dynamics at the University of Dundee from 1998 to 2001, where work involved simulations in the Hydraulics Laboratory. Earlier roles include Project Manager at INETI, concentrating on renewable energies and wave energy from 1995 to 1997. Sofia's educational background includes multiple degrees in Geophysical Sciences and Oceanography from the University of Lisbon, completed between 1988 and 1994, alongside secondary education at Escola Secundária Sebastião da Gama from 1984 to 1987.
