Tanja Gesell

Tanja Gesell is an accomplished university teacher with extensive experience in higher education, currently holding positions at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, FH Campus Wien | University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Vienna since 2017 and 2013 respectively. Tanja co-founded Calyxha Biotechnologies GmbH, where responsibilities included serving as Head of In Silico Research and Development from 2019 to 2021. Previous roles at Max Perutz Labs Vienna included University Assistant and Postdoctoral Researcher, and Tanja held visiting scientist and research fellow positions at Harvard University and the Broad Institute. Tanja's academic background includes a PhD in Computational and Molecular Biology from the University of Vienna, along with a Master of Arts in Experimental Sculpture from Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Düsseldorf.
