Alicia El Haj

Alicia El Haj is an accomplished professional in the field of cell engineering with significant experience in leadership roles. Currently, Alicia serves as the Director and Interdisciplinary Chair of Cell Engineering at the University of Birmingham since September 2018. In addition, Alicia is the Founder of MICA Biosystems, a position held since September 2011. Prior to these roles, Alicia was the Institute Director at Keele University from May 2000 to August 2018. Academically, Alicia holds a PhD from the University of Aberdeen (1981-1985), an MSc from The University of Manchester (1979-1982), and additional Master's degrees in Engineering from The University of Manchester.
