Jelena Ninic is an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) in Digital Engineering at the University of Birmingham since September 2022, previously serving as an Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering at the University of Nottingham from May 2016 to September 2022. Prior experience includes being a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow and Research Associate at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, focusing on Computational Mechanics and Mechanized Tunnelling from January 2010 to January 2016, and a PhD Researcher at MIT in 2012. Jelena Ninic began a career in academia as a Research Assistant in Civil Engineering at the University of Belgrade from November 2008 to December 2009 while also working as an Engineer for tunnel design at the Institute for Water-Power Engineering “Jaroslav Cherni.” Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computational Mechanics from Ruhr University Bochum and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Belgrade.
