Nicola Owen

Nicola Owen serves as the Registrar, Secretary, and Chief Operating Officer at the University of Birmingham since September 2025. Prior to this role, Nicola held the position of Deputy Chief Executive (Operations) at Lancaster University from February 2020 to October 2025. Earlier experience includes serving as Deputy Registrar at the University of Warwick from September 2010 to January 2013 and as Academic Registrar at the same institution from 2007 to 2010. Nicola's educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Hull and a Bachelor's Degree in Politics from Nottingham University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Nottingham. Secondary education was completed at Nonsuch High School for Girls.
