Paolo Missier

Paolo Missier currently serves as the Director of The Institute for Data and AI at the University of Birmingham, a position held since autumn 2024. In addition to this role, Paolo Missier is a Professor of Computer and Data Science at Newcastle University and has maintained a visiting professor position at the same institution. Previous positions include Fellow at The Alan Turing Institute and Research Fellow at the University of Manchester's School of Computer Science. Paolo Missier has also worked as an independent IT consultant in Italy and held a role as a Research Scientist at Telcordia Technologies. Educational credentials include a PhD in Computer Science from The University of Manchester, an MSc from the University of Houston-Victoria, and dual degrees in Informatics from Universita' di Udine, Italy.
