Denise Howitt

Denise Howitt, CRSP, CRM, serves as the Senior Manager of EHS Systems & Compliance at the University of Calgary since December 2017, previously holding the title of Manager in the same department. Denise has extensive experience in occupational health and safety, having worked as an Instructor/Facilitator at the University of New Brunswick from December 2015 to June 2018, where expertise was provided for the Occupational Health and Auditing Course. Prior roles include Project Manager and Senior Safety Specialist at EHS Partnerships Ltd. from December 2009 to December 2017, focusing on audit team management and technical leadership in Safety and Risk Management. Additionally, from December 1996 to December 2009, Denise worked as a Health and Safety/Workers Compensation Consultant at BCL Consulting Group Inc., managing Workers Compensation claims and developing health and safety management systems. Educational qualifications include a Certificate in Professional Management specializing in Risk Management and a Canadian Risk Management designation from the University of Calgary, along with a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Alberta.
