Durga Kale

Course Instructor at University of Calgary

Durga Kale is an accomplished researcher and educator with extensive experience in academia and cultural heritage. Currently serving as a Researcher at Focillon - Arts & History since April 2022, Durga is also a Doctoral Student and Sessional Instructor at the University of Calgary, focusing on course development and higher education instruction. Durga has co-hosted the Chippin' Away podcast since April 2020, leading thematic episodes on Anthropology and Archaeology while managing social media and publicity efforts. As a former Student Representative for the Canadian Society for the Study of Religion, Durga worked to enhance engagement and equity for graduate students. Additionally, Durga was a founding member and Convener of the Classics, Religion, Anthropology and Archaeology Inter-disciplinary Group at the University of Calgary. Previous roles include Co-Curator at Nickle Galleries and Documentation Associate at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Durga holds a PhD from the University of Calgary and has advanced degrees in Indian Archaeology and Indology.
