Bishal Tandukar

Bishal Tandukar, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of California, San Francisco, specializing in genomic studies of human skin, particularly the mutational landscape of skin cancers like melanoma. Prior to this role, Bishal served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where research focused on melanocyte stem cell subpopulations and their distinct pigmentation and regenerative capabilities, contributing valuable insights into therapeutic potentials for demyelinating disorders. Bishal completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, after earning a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Bioinformatics from Towson University. Additional experience includes research internships at both UMB and Baltimore City Community College, where foundational skills in gene expression and genetic comparison were developed.
