Brian Black has over 25 years of experience in academia and research within the field of cardiovascular biology. Currently serving as the Director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute and a Professor at the University of California, San Francisco since 1998, Brian has held multiple academic positions including Assistant and Associate Professor. Prior to this role, Brian gained experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Molecular Biology at both the UT Southwestern Medical Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center in collaboration with Dr. Eric Olson. Brian earned a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Wake Forest University and a BS in Biology from Furman University.
