Missy Matella

Missy Matella is an experienced employment, labor, education, and business attorney with over a decade of litigation and in-house experience. Currently serving as the Associate Vice President for Systemwide Employee and Labor Relations at the University of California Office of the President since October 2022, Matella has previously held key positions such as Attorney at Watkinson Laird Rubenstein and Senior Director of Employee and Labor Relations and Associate General Counsel at the University of Oregon. Matella's expertise includes negotiating and implementing collective bargaining agreements, advising on complex employee issues and compliance matters, and spearheading initiatives related to workplace culture and equity. Matella holds a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from George Mason University.
