Brendan Simms is a distinguished academic specializing in European geopolitics, currently serving as the Director of the Centre for Geopolitics since 2017. With a profound expertise in the German Question, Britain and Europe, humanitarian intervention, and state construction, Simms teaches at both undergraduate and graduate levels in the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) and the Faculty of History at the University of Cambridge, where roles also include Professor in the History of European International Relations and Reader in the History of International Relations.
