Design Practice Teaching Fellow And Lecturer at University of Canterbury

Louise Webster is an experienced educator and leader in innovation and sustainable design. Currently serving as a Design Practice Teaching Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Canterbury since May 2023, Louise focuses on the principles of Circular Economy, Design Thinking, and Human-Centered Design to guide students in creating sustainable products. As a co-founder and director of Ideas Accelerator Limited, Louise has dedicated two decades to helping organizations develop innovation capabilities and build high-performing teams. Past roles include managing the Aronga Whanokē facility at Environment Canterbury, contributing as an Independent Trustee for the NZ Rural Leadership Trust, and leading initiatives as CEO and Founder of the New Zealand Innovation Council and the New Zealand Innovation Awards. Louise's educational qualifications include a Post Graduate Diploma in Design Management and Innovation Strategy from Unitec, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the University of Canterbury, and ongoing studies in Ceramics at Otago Polytechnic | Te Pūkenga.
