Andrea Adkins

Andrea Adkins is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in technology transfer, intellectual property, and contract negotiation. Currently serving as the Assistant Director in the Office of Technology Transfer at the University of Central Florida since 1999, Andrea guides scientists and inventors through patenting and commercialization processes, fostering the transition of research into viable business ventures. As a Senior Licensing Associate, Andrea managed a portfolio of over 200 physical science inventions, developing strategies for commercialization and authoring plans for grant proposals. Andrea also has a background in contract management, having negotiated various research contracts while supervising support staff. Prior to UCF, Andrea held leadership roles in marketing and business development at Adkins & Adkins, Inc., Sverdrup Corporation, and PEC-Professional Engineering Consultants. Andrea earned a Master's degree in Research Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
