Uma Sriram

Uma Sriram is a dedicated and active student at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies. Since August 2021, Uma has served as Treasurer for PERIOD., leading fundraising initiatives and organizing product drives to address period poverty. In the role of Period Drive Director, collaboration with the organization's president and local student groups has facilitated community engagement. As a Research Assistant, contributions to projects under Dr. Shannon Carter and Dr. Lindsay Taliaferro have focused on media coverage of reproductive healthcare and the mental health of sexual and gender minority youth. Additionally, council membership on the UCF President's Leadership Council and leadership roles within Honors Congress showcase Uma's commitment to student representation and community service, successfully raising over $2500 for various causes.
