Jonathan Thompson serves as the Medical Director and General and Bariatric Surgeon at UC Health Weight Loss Center since August 2013, while also holding the position of Information Technology & Quality Improvement Officer. Jonathan is the Director at The Thompson Center at UCRI since July 2013 and an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati since March 2014. In addition, Jonathan co-founded Standard Bariatrics, Inc. in January 2014, serving as Chief Medical Officer, and developed the Titan SGS surgical stapler. Jonathan's entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding Rational Foods and serving as a Fogarty Fellow at the Fogarty Institute for Innovation. Educational credentials include an MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and a BA from Miami University, along with a background as a General Surgery Resident at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Missouri.
