Kathy Green

Vice Chancellor of Marketing and Communications at University of Colorado Cancer Center

With a career spanning politics, healthcare, and rock and roll, Kathy Green brings a wealth of expertise and experience in media relations, marketing, strategic planning and partnership development to her role as vice chancellor of marketing and communications for the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Prior to joining CU Anschutz, Green served as communications director for Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, where she oversaw media relations and strategic planning. During her tenure, she redesigned and rebuilt the communications division, boosting citizen engagement, enhancing the governor’s national media profile, and increasing his rankings on social media.

Green, an Iowa native, began her career in advertising and public relations in concert promotions, working on tours including the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney. She transitioned to healthcare after moving to Chicago, where she helped build a local and regional profile for a private hospital. She went on to serve as communications director for agencies within the City and County of Denver, and led strategic marketing and communications for the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. Green has also run her own communications and marketing consultancy firm.
