Amit Kumar

Amit Kumar is a seasoned professional in licensing and business development with a focus on innovative technologies in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as Senior Director of Licensing at the University of Connecticut since September 2019, Amit leads a team in monetizing UConn's technologies through licensing, startups, and industry partnerships. Previous roles include Director of Licensing and Venture Development at UConn, Senior Advisor at SIAS Global, Director of Licensing at GE, Business Development Leader at Precision Combustion, and Director at Advent Technologies, among others. Amit's expertise encompasses intellectual property commercialization, strategic planning, and market development, supported by a PhD in Biophysics from the Medical College of Wisconsin and a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
