Pamir Alpay

Pamir Alpay currently serves as the Vice President for Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Connecticut, a position held since January 2001, alongside roles as a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Executive Director of UConn Tech Park. Alpay has held various leadership positions including interim Vice President for Research, Associate Dean for Research and Industrial Partnerships in the School of Engineering, and Department Head in Materials Science and Engineering. Previous academic experience includes a Visiting Professorship at Yale University and a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position at the University of Maryland. Alpay holds a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Maryland and both an MS in Materials Engineering and a BS in Metallurgical Engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi.
