Rune Frank-Hansen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in research support, assay development, and forensic genetics. Currently serving as Head of Section for Research Support at the University of Copenhagen since January 2023, Rune oversees research applications, high-performance computing systems, consultancy services, and the Datalab. Previously, Rune held several key director and managerial roles at Chr. Hansen, focusing on new assay platforms, microbiological safety, and molecular biology methods from August 2017 to November 2022. Prior experience includes leading forensic genetics departments at the University of Copenhagen, where responsibilities encompassed handling DNA samples for both crime scene investigations and paternity cases. Rune's educational background includes a PhD in Inherited Heart Disease from the University of Copenhagen and an MSc in Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark.
