Scott Abbott

Scott Abbott currently serves as the Assistant Director at the Delaware Center for Civics Education at the University of Delaware, where responsibilities include serving as a Policy Scientist and adjunct instructor for UAPP102. Prior to this role, Scott held various positions at the American University School of Education, where the focus was on elementary social studies methods, and at the District of Columbia Public Schools, progressing from Specialist to Director of Social Studies. Additional experience includes serving as an Instructional Coach at Friendship Public Charter School and Program Director with Teach for America. Scott also has academic experience as an adjunct professor at Wingate University and worked as an Assessment Writer for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, along with teaching at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Scott holds an Executive Masters in Leadership from Georgetown University and two degrees from Wake Forest University: a MAEd in Secondary Social Studies Education and a B.A. in History.
