Rachel Wicaksono

Rachel Wicaksono currently serves as the Executive Dean of the School of Childhood and Social Care at the University of East London since January 2025. Prior to this role, Rachel held various leadership positions at York St John University, including Head of the School of Education, Language and Psychology and Head of the Department of Languages and Linguistics, from June 2005 to January 2025. Rachel's earlier experience includes serving as Director at The British Institute from 1991 to 2005, a Teacher Trainer at IKIP PGRI Teacher Training College from 1989 to 1991, and an English and Music Teacher at Auckland House School from 1987 to 1988. Rachel's educational credentials include a Doctor of Education (EdD) and an MA in TESOL from IOE - UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, as well as a BA and MA in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford. Additionally, Rachel holds RSA/UCLES Diplomas and Certificates in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from Bell School and International House, London.
