Marco Orellana

Marco Orellana has a diverse work experience in the fields of internal audit and academia. Marco is currently serving as the Director Sindico at the Instituto de Auditores Internos de El Salvador since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Internal Auditor at DLC S.A. de C.V. from May 2018 onwards. Marco also has experience in academia, serving as the Director of Specialization in Internal Audit at the Universidad de El Salvador and also as an advisor and jury for graduation work at the same institution starting from April 2022. In addition, Marco worked as a Supervisor of External Audit at BDO El Salvador from January 2017 to May 2018, and as an Auxiliary Auditor at Omnisport El Salvador from June 2016 to January 2017. Marco started their career as an Auditor Staff at Moore Stephens International from October 2014 to May 2016.

Marco Orellana completed a Licenciatura in Contabilidad y finanzas at Universidad de El Salvador from 2010 to 2018. In addition, they obtained the Contador Público Autorizado certification from the consejo de vigilancia de la profesión de contaduría pública y auditoría in November 2018. More recently, in the year 2020, Marco acquired the COSO Internal Control Certificate from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc.
