Kevin Donkers

Kevin Donkers has extensive experience in environmental science and data engineering, currently serving as a UKRI Policy Intern at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since April 2025, while simultaneously pursuing a PhD in Environmental Intelligence at the University of Exeter. Previous roles include Postgraduate Researcher at the University of Exeter, Programme Lead for Education & Outreach at the Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence, and Senior Scientific Software Engineer at the Met Office Informatics Lab, where Kevin led multidisciplinary research projects applying data science to weather and climate science. Additional significant experiences encompass data engineering for the Royal Society's COVID response, software development at the Met Office, and a background in research engineering at the University of Glasgow, focusing on robotic platforms for chemical systems research. Education includes an MSci in Chemical Physics from the University of Glasgow and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, complementing the ongoing doctoral studies.
