Thomas Monks

Thomas Monks is an Associate Professor of Health Data Science at the University of Exeter since October 2019 and has been a Turing Fellow at The Alan Turing Institute since January 2019. Additionally, Thomas holds the position of Honorary Senior Research Associate at UCL, focusing on applied data science and unsupervised learning in healthcare. Previously, Thomas was the Director of the CLAHRC Wessex Data Science Hub from July 2014 to September 2019, providing data science support to the NHS. Thomas's earlier experience includes serving as a Research Fellow at the University of Exeter Medical School and working in various roles in data science and programming, culminating in a PhD in Simulation Modelling from the University of Warwick. Thomas's educational background includes an MSc in Operational Research from Lancaster University and a BSc in Computer Science and Applicable Mathematics from the University of Staffordshire.
