Francesco Branca

Francesco Branca is an accomplished professional in the field of nutrition and food safety, currently serving as an Invited Professor at the University of Geneva since January 2025. Prior to this, Francesco held several prominent positions at the World Health Organization from June 2008 to January 2025, including Director of the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety and Director of the Department of Nutrition for Health and Development. Francesco also served as a Regional Advisor for Nutrition at WHO Euro from May 2005 to June 2008 and was a Senior Scientist at the National Institute for Research on Food & Nutrition from 1988 to 2005. Francesco earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from the University of Aberdeen between 1991 and 1995 and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore from 1978 to 1984.
