Michael Waibel

Michael Waibel is a seasoned academic with extensive experience in research and project management, currently serving as a Senior Researcher and Project Leader at the University of Hamburg since July 2007. Previously, Michael held the position of Assistant Professor at the University of Goettingen from April 1996 to June 2007, where responsibilities included research and teaching. Michael's academic journey began with a Master's Degree in Economic Geography from RWTH Aachen University, completed in 1996, following an Abitur from Hegau Gymnasium Singen am Hohentwiel, where major courses focused on Physics and Geography. Michael's work also encompasses exhibition organization and contributions to urban development studies, notably through a PhD thesis on urban development in Hanoi.
