Thomas Kupfer

Thomas Kupfer is a professor at the University of Hamburg, beginning in September 2023, following a role as an assistant professor at Texas Tech from September 2020 to August 2023. Prior postdoctoral experience includes positions at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics from May 2018 to September 2020 and Caltech from August 2015 to April 2018. Thomas Kupfer's earlier career involved various postdoctoral and research assistant roles at Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, where Thomas Kupfer completed a PhD in Astronomy from Radboud University between 2011 and 2015, and a Master of Science in Physics at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg from 2005 to 2010. Thomas Kupfer began professional training as an industrial mechanic at Sumitomo (SHI) Demag, which lasted from September 2000 to September 2003.
