Kalbert Young

Kalbert Young is the current Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at the University of Hawaii System. Kalbert has held this position since December of 2014. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Finance for the State of Hawaii from December 2010 to December 2014. In this role, Kalbert was responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of the state budget, as well as managing the state's treasury and debt issuance. Kalbert also advised on matters of financial or capital considerations for state initiatives.

Kalbert has a long history of experience in financial management and administration. Kalbert began their career in the private sector, working for various companies in finance and accounting roles. Kalbert then transitioned into public service, taking on progressively more responsible positions in state government. In their most recent role as Director of Finance for the State of Hawaii, Kalbert was responsible for an annual budget of $5.5+ billion.

Kalbert is a highly skilled and experienced financial manager who has proven himself capable of handling complex budgets and initiatives. Kalbert is a trusted advisor on matters of finance and capital investment, and has played a key role in the development of the University of Hawaii System's financial strategy.

Kalbert Young received a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii and a Bachelors of Arts in American Kalbert'story from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
