Darius M. Benton

Darius M. Benton, Ph.D., serves as the Chair of the Department of Arts and Communication and Associate Professor of Communication Studies at the University of Houston-Downtown since August 2017, teaching courses in Business/Organizational Communication and Religious Communication while conducting research on organizational culture and leadership in educational and religious contexts. Prior to this role, Darius Benton was the Program Director for the Master's in Strategic Communication and an Assistant Professor at Aldine ISD and held various positions in educational and religious institutions, including high school teacher, pastor, and program manager. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Norfolk State University, a Master of Divinity from Emory University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.
