Ahmmed Zulfiqar Rahaman

Ahmmed Zulfiqar Rahaman is a doctoral student at the University of Houston, beginning in August 2024, with extensive experience in climate change and disaster risk management. Previously, Rahaman served as an Associate Specialist and Junior Specialist at the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) from May 2013 to July 2024, focusing on climate risk assessments, disaster risk management policies, and national adaptation planning in Bangladesh. Additionally, Rahaman worked as a Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Policy Analyst at the Asian Development Bank and as a Climate Change Specialist for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Significant projects include stormwater management for Thimphu, Bhutan, and various assessments and modeling related to climate change impacts in Bangladesh. Rahaman holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston, a Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering, and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
