Jason Smith is currently the Vice President for Governmental Relations at University of Houston. Jason has previous experience working in the Texas Senate as a Legislative Aide for State Senator Tommy Williams. In this role, Jason advised Senator Williams on multiple policy areas including Transportation, Local Government Affairs, Business & Commerce, Homeland Security, Tax Issues, and Appropriations. Jason also served as primary advisor on all bills filed by Senator Williams in these policy areas, including SB 792, 2007 Session, granting local toll authorities primacy on projects within their jurisdiction and creating statewide policy on several key policy areas related to toll roads in Texas.
Jason has also previous experience working for the University of Houston System. In this role, Jason was responsible for all aspects of a federal PAC including federal filing, expenditure decisions, and strategic candidate advocacy.

Jason Smith has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Houston. Jason also has a Master's Degree in Masters of Communication Management from the University of Southern California. Jason Smith is currently a Bachelor of Arts Candidate in Political Science and Government at Southern Methodist University. Jason is also certified from CrossFit, Inc. as a CrossFit Level-1 Trainer.
