Karen Colley

Provost & Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs at University of Illinois at Chicago

Karen Colley is the current Acting Provost & Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Karen has also served as the Interim University Librarian and Dean of Libraries from August 2020 to February 2021. Prior to that, they were with the UIC College of Medicine. Karen Colley started their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA from May 1987 to August 1991.

Karen Colley received their BS in Chemistry/Biochemistry from Duke University and their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.

Karen Colley reports to Javier Reyes, Chancellor. They work with Susan Poser - Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Amalia Pallares - Vice Chancellor, Diversity, Equity & Engagement, and Chandra Harris-McCray - Vice Chancellor, Strategic Marketing & Communications.
