Girish Chowdhary is an Associate Professor and Donald Biggar Willet Faculty Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since July 2016, with previous experience as an Assistant Professor and a director of the Distributed Autonomous Systems Laboratory. As a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of EarthSense, Inc., Girish has contributed to advancing technology in agriculture and independent systems. Prior roles include co-founding Unmanned Cowboys and serving as Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University. Girish's early career includes a Postdoctoral Associate position at MIT, a Research Engineer role at Georgia Institute of Technology, and various engineering positions focused on control systems and autonomous systems. Girish earned a Ph.D. and a Master's in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering from RMIT University.
