Hetvi Patel

Hetvi Patel is an undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, expected to graduate in 2026. Hetvi serves as a Research Assistant in Parasol Lab, conducting research under Dr. Nancy Amato, and is involved in Natural Language Processing projects with Prof. Julia Hockenmaier. Additionally, Hetvi holds a Consultant position at Illinois Business Consulting, focusing on cloud computing strategies for education, and serves as Vice President of Open-Source at Illinois, organizing workshops and fostering industry relationships. Previous experience includes participation in the IBM Accelerate program, a Software Engineer role at State Farm, and various leadership positions in organizations such as Illinois Women in Computer Science and STEM & Buds, where Hetvi developed instructional materials and promoted community engagement. Prior experience also includes UI/UX design work for Public House.
