Josh Whitman has held prominent positions in athletics administration, currently serving as the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since March 2016. Previously, Whitman was the Director of Athletics at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. In addition to a strong background in athletics, Whitman practiced law as an Attorney-at-Law at Covington & Burling LLP and served as a Law Clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Early career experience includes various roles within the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics and a tenure as a Professional Football Player in the NFL. Educational qualifications include a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and a B.S. in Finance from Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
