Matthew Haugen, PhD, is an accomplished professional in the fields of sports coaching, education, and consulting, currently serving as the Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach and Director of Analytics at Brown University since August 2021. With extensive experience in various coaching roles, including Head Coach positions at Trinity University and Hebei Province Sports Bureau, Matthew has developed a reputation for integrating data-driven insights into training and player performance. As an instructor in Kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Matthew teaches over 800 students per semester while emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in education. In addition to academic responsibilities, Matthew founded SportEd Chinese Student-Athlete Consulting, providing strategic assistance for international student-athletes navigating the college admission process.
