Aurelio Huerta, Jr. currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the University of Illinois Latina/Latino Alumni Association since July 2023. In addition, Aurelio is an Investment Analyst at CFI Partners, a role held since June 2022, where responsibilities include developing investment theses, conducting industry research, and managing portfolios, specifically within the Packaging, Food, Retail, and Gaming/Casinos sectors. As Treasurer of the Alumni Committee at The Academy Group, Inc. since November 2022, Aurelio oversees financial affairs, conducts audits, and fosters connections between alumni and current students through professional development initiatives. Prior experience includes internships at CFI Partners, Heitman, Cabrera Capital Markets, LLC, and SkyART NFP, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Latina/Latino Alumni Association (IllinoisLLAA) was informally established in late 2008 and then formally recognized as an affiliate of the University of Illinois Alumni Association in mid-2009. Led in its first year by a combined Steering Committee/Board of Directors as well as an Executive Board, bylaws and functional committees have been established, and the organization is actively recruiting members.
