Derek Schnapp

Derek Schnapp has extensive experience in public relations and communications, serving as the Public Relations Director at the University of Illinois Springfield since July 2009. Prior to this role, Derek worked as the Communications Manager for the State of Illinois from March 2006 to July 2009. Derek's career in media began at WICS - NewsChannel 20, where a variety of roles were held from 1990 to 2006, including Sports Reporter/Anchor, Executive Producer of News, Assignments Editor, and Photographer. Derek earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Illinois State University between 1986 and 1990.
